Characters: Kikuchiyo He is the seventh samurai who accompanies them on their journey. Originally an orphaned farm boy, he became a true samurai after accompanying the six samurai to defeat the bandits. He is often humorous, laughing in loud bursts to himself, temperamental, arrogant, prone to sudden mood changes, and, proving himself to be a true samurai, shows his worth and resourcefulness. Kambei: Kambei is the first Samurai who joins Rikichi and the villagers to fight off the bandits and save them. He is the one who gathers the seven samurai together through a series of traps and tests. He is seemingly quiet, wise, strategically smart ,and tactically great while being war-weary. Okamoto Katsushiro He is the untested, untrained son of a wealthy samurai. Kambei only accepts him as a disciple, not as a warrior. He also has a romance with Shino, whom he brings food and water to. He also tries to protect her when her father Manzo comes and tries to beat Shino for allowing the romance
