 Characters:

Kikuchiyo

He is the seventh samurai who accompanies them on their journey. Originally an orphaned farm boy, he became a true samurai after accompanying the six samurai to defeat the bandits. He is often humorous, laughing in loud bursts to himself, temperamental, arrogant, prone to sudden mood changes, and, proving himself to be a true samurai, shows his worth and resourcefulness.

Kambei:

Kambei is the first Samurai who joins Rikichi and the villagers to fight off the bandits and save them. He is the one who gathers the seven samurai together through a series of traps and tests. He is seemingly quiet, wise, strategically smart ,and tactically great while being war-weary.

Okamoto Katsushiro

He is the untested, untrained son of a wealthy samurai.  Kambei only accepts him as a disciple, not as a warrior. He also has a romance with Shino, whom he brings food and water to. He also tries to protect her when her father Manzo comes and tries to beat Shino for allowing the romance to occur.

Kyuzo

Kyuzo is recruited when Kambei and the other samurai see him in action defeating another samurai. He is serious, stone-faced, but is also supremely skilled, bringing back one of the rifles the bandits own. Okamoto Katsushiro aspires to be him and is in awe of his skill. But, in the end, he is killed by a rifle himself.

Shichiroji

He is an old friend and the former lieutenant of Kambei. He is quiet and serious, agreeing to help Kambei in the fight against the bandits. He survives the final battle against the bandits.

Heihachi Hayashida

He is good samurai, and was recruited for his light-hearted attitude and joking personality. He is the comedian, often making fun of Kikuchiyo, some villagers, and himself. Gorobei and him become friends with their similar humor, while he consistently mocks Kikuchiyo. Kikuchiyo develops a liking for him, because he likes Heihachi's sense of fun. But, he is the first samurai to die after trying to save Rikichi.

Gorobei Katayama

Gorobei joined the samurai because Kambei and him had a similar things in common view-wise. Gorobei also has a good sense of humor, which made him a very good friend to Heihachi. He was killed the day before the final battle by the bandits.

Rikichi

He is the one who doesn't give in, and has deep hatred against Manzo, although Rikichi has nothing to lose while Manzo has his daughter, and fears her safety. Rikichi's wife was kidnapped and his horse was stolen by the bandits. So, he fights with anger, slaughtering multiple bandits himself. Heihachi is killed because of him after he tries to get his wife back from the bandits.

A piece of cardboard

My lawyer, a poor, cheap man who wore little and knew little, knocked on the door of my run-down apartment with a forlorn expression slicked across his plasticine face. "Are you Mr. Frauk?" He pulled out a card, offered his rubber-gloved hands, but I refused. He offered it again, but I pushed it away and smiled in false respect. "Mr. Frauk?", the lawyer repeated in his ancient German accent. "Frank", I paused, and beckoned him in, "My name is Frank. What is this about?" "Mr... Frauk", his lips curled as he grimaced to pronounce my name," Frauk, Frank, Frauk... Nonetheless, I'm here because of a recent uncle of your kin. If I remember him properly, his name is Drew Trijark." "Trark", I repeated, but in a different accent, mocking him somewhat. "Trark, Trijark, Trark... But what I wanted to talk to you about is his inheritance", my lawyer paused as if in sadness and contemplation, turned away, hiding his ...
